F.A.Q.

Q. Who are Darklight Industries?
A. We are a not-for-profit group who were set up in July 2008 for the organisation of gothic and alternative themed social events in the Salisbury area. At present we're focusing on running Masquerade balls, hopefully twice a year, but there are plans to branch out into other kinds of events in the future so watch this space!

Q. What is the dress code?
A. We hope people will stick with the Dark Fantasy theme. We've taken inspiration for this event and for our own costumes from the wealth of fantasy art, literature, film, history, myth and legend that's out there at the moment. We're hoping to see a rainbow of inventive costumes and characters from all sides of the fantasy spectrum: from elves, goblins, sylphs and fairies to demons, vampires, dragons and ghouls, and everything in between. Please also remember that this is a formal ball, street wear is not allowed. Costumes should be tasteful, so please leave the extreme fetish gear and pasties at home! Also, please note the floors of the Guildhall are very old, and we ask you to refrain from wearing stiletto heels. Masks are required, even the door staff and entertainers will be wearing them, and you will not be admitted without a mask, though inexpensive masks will be provided on the door for anyone who manages to leave theirs at home. We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone we feel does not adhere with the dress code. Please also note that the Dark Fantasy Ball is open only to patrons of age 18 and over.

Q. I want to be Lilith/Gaia/Artemis!
A. We're sorry, but these costumes are reserved for the hosts.

Q. It turns out I can no longer attend, can I return the tickets for a refund?
A. It's unfortunate you can't join us for this event, but tickets are non refundable. In the past, people have sold their tickets on to third parties and this is acceptable, however we are not responsible for these sales and you buy resale tickets at your own risk.

Q. Will there be a costume competition?
A. There will be a competition for the King and Queen of the ball (the hosts are of course excluded from this). Prizes will be awarded to the male and female guests who we feel have been most creative with their costumes whilst staying faithful to the "Dark Fantasy" theme.

Q. When do tickets go on sale?
A. Tickets will go on sale October 1st 2008. Please check the tickets page for information and to buy.
